The Interchange 6 contract is one of the NJ Turnpike Interchange 6 to 9 Widening Program projects. The project will add three outer roadway lanes in both directions along the existing NJ Turnpike between milepost 50.5 to 51. The project involves constructing 7 new bridges, widening 1 bridge, 24 retaining walls, and the demolition of 4 existing bridges which span over the existing Turnpike mainline.
Projects
Rt. 35 Restoration Milepost 4.00-9.07
During Superstorm Sandy in October, 2012, State Highway Rt 35, and the utilities throughout the barrier island were heavily damaged. This caused the NJDOT to expedite a previously planned improvement project, and change it to a full roadway reconstruction project, including new utilities and drainage for the entire length of the island. This specific project involves the expedited reconstruction of 10 miles of Rt 35, which includes 2 lanes of traffic and shoulders.
Long Branch Boardwalk Replacement
This project involves the replacement of more than one mile of boardwalk along Ocean Avenue that was destroyed or damaged by Hurricane Sandy, and helps provide resiliency against future storms for the southern section of the city. The project will be funded 90 % by F.E.M.A and 10% by the City of Long Branch.
New Jersey American Water – Barrier Island Water Main Replacement Project
The New Jersey American Water Barrier Island Water Main replacement project is located on the barrier island in northern Ocean County. This project replaces approximately 40,000 feet of water main throughout the townships of Mantoloking, Brick, and Toms River.
NJ Turnpike Authority – Salt Shed
Located at Exit 116 on the Garden State Parkway, also known as Telegraph Hill, we have been given the task to construct a one story salt shed with approximate dimensions of 144 feet by 83 feet. It will be supported on a spread footing and include a slab-on-grade floor.
Emergency Replacement of Bridge HL-08 Havens Bridge Road
On April 30, 2015 we were contacted by the County of Monmouth regarding the Havens Bridge Road in Howell, which had been recently closed to traffic after an inspection of the bridge over the Manasquan River. The bridge is a four span precast box beam bridge, supported by timber pile bents and concrete pier caps.
Emergency Repairs to County Bridge W-9 Over Glimmer Glass
This emergency project includes repairing a historic timber bridge commonly referred to as “The Glimmer Glass Bridge.” Work includes the rehabilitation of existing timber piles using fiberglass jackets filled with epoxy grout, removal and replacement of the timber deck and asphalt overlay, repairing four of the pile caps with new timbers, driving new 14” diameter timber piles and installing 1-3/8” diameter steel tie-backs to stabilize the bulkheads at each abutment.
Superstructure Repairs and Improvements to Bridge S-31 (Oceanic Bridge)
Built in 1939, Bridge S-31 (The Oceanic Bridge) is a 2700 foot long by 40 foot wide structure. The Bridge includes a double leaf bascule span, 16 steel girder spans and 40 reinforced concrete tee beam spans.
NJTurnpike, Garden State Parkway – Contract No. P200.199
This job involves the widening of the Garden State Parkway mainline from Milepost 83.5 to 88.5 as part of the overall improvement project that extends to Milepost 99.5. This section will provide for 12 foot wide left and right shoulders, widening of travel lanes to 12 feet wide, incorporation of pavement superelevation and transitions to NJTA standards, roadside treatments and establishment of clear zones consistent with NJTA standards.
Rt. 1&9T St. Paul’s Ave. Bridge
The Rt. 1&9 St. Paul’s Ave. Bridge project, is one of the largest single contracts ever awarded by the NJDOT. The project involved constructing 11 bridges and 45 retaining walls, and the demolition of 5 existing bridges in the area of Tonnelle Ave., and the Pulaski Skyway in Jersey City, NJ.
