The Union Railroad Station Effort A Project was the first phase of work required to construct a new train station in the Township of Union, New Jersey. This project involved the construction of a 600 foot poured-in-place concrete retaining wall to support an additional track and the construction of a new railroad bridge for New Jersey Transit.
Projects
NJDOT Whitehead Rd., County Route 616 over Amtrak NE Corridor
The Whitehead Road contract located in Mercer County, New Jersey involved the demolition of an existing three span bridge, and the construction of the replacement structure. The new structure will be built in the exact alignment as the existing structure, and also span over Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor.
Route 21/78, Section 2N & 5CK
The Route 21/78, Sections 2N & 5CK project located in Newark, NJ, involves the construction of approximately 1 mile of new bridges to replace a portion of the heavily traveled Route 21 highway. Under this contract we will also install a connecting ramp between the proposed Route 21 Viaduct and the existing Route 78 Interstate. The tie-in of these ramps require us to widen portions of the existing Route 78 bridge.
Route 1 & 9, Section 2AG
The Route 1& 9 Section 2AG project is located in Newark, New Jersey on one of the heaviest traveled sections of roadway in the Northeast. The project site is located between the Pulaski Skyway and the Newark International Airport.
EWR 174.003 Airport Access Program EWR Monorail NEC Connection
This project site is located in Newark, NJ on, and adjacent to the property of the Newark International Airport. This Guideway Foundation contract was awarded to Harms Construction to build several new concrete foundations and pedestals for the Newark Airport Monorail extension.
NJ TRANSIT EWR Monorail/NEC Connection
This project was the first of several to construct a connection between the Newark Airport Monorail and Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor. Modifications to the existing rail facilities were accomplished to construct station passenger platforms under this contract.
NJDOT Route 295, Sections 1AV & 1AY
This project involved the reconstruction of interchanges 14 & 17 on Interstate Rt. 295 in Gloucester County, New Jersey. Each of the two interchange reconstructions involved the demolition of an existing bridge and the construction of a replacement bridge over existing Interstate 295 while maintaining traffic at all times.
NJDOT Route 1, Section 5G & 6U
This project involved road construction, ramps, earthwork and utility relocation work for the approach to a new Rt. 1 bridge over Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor. Also included in the construction of this contract was the demolition and removal of the existing Rt. 1 bridge over Amtrak.
US Army Corp of Engineers Fort Dix Landfill Construction
This project involved the restoration and capping of an existing 56 acre superfund landfill site at Ft. Dix, Burlington County, New Jersey. The project involved the implementation of an extensive Health and Safety Program and Quality Control Program.
NJ TRANSIT Secaucus Transfer Project, 138kv Relocation
This project involved pole line construction to relocate Amtrak’s existing 138kv transmission, signal, and ground wires to a permanent location away from the Northeast Corridor. This move will facilitate construction of the new Secaucus Transfer Station.
