This contract involved all of the required work to construct the Gropp’s Lake Dam in Hamilton Township. The dam is made up of a concrete spillway section, keyed into the stream banks by means of nonoverflow embankments.

This contract was to replace the Rt. 130 Bridge over the Rancocas Creek, and construct a new interchange between Rt. 130 and the relocated Bridgeboro Street. This new interchange required a new structure to carry Rt. 130 over Bridgeboro Street.
On June 13, 1985 George Harms Construction was awarded the contract to complete taxiway replacement work and runway extensions at the FAA Technical Center Airport, Pomona, NJ. The contract was divided into three (3) different work stages. Each stage had a very tight time constraint.
The work associated with this contract had several different aspects: bridge demolition, Amtrak electrification modifications, roadway work, and new bridge construction. All work required extensive coordination due to the close proximity with the Amtrak mainline.
This contract known as Amtrak’s FHD was the first of five major construction contracts which affected the Amtrak mainline tracks between Philadelphia and Newark. The area covered by this contract was along Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor from Trenton Station, extending 15 miles to the north.
The Adams Station Maintenance Facility in North Brunswick is located near Milepost
35 of the Amtrak Mainline. The work associated with this contract included the
construction of the Maintenance of Way Base Buildings, Repair Shop, and site
improvements at Adams Station.
The scope of this project involved the construction of a new bypass highway crossing over the Amtrak mainline, through an undeveloped area, and intersecting with US Route 1.
