Project Details

This project involved the restoration and capping of an existing 56 acre superfund landfill site at Ft. Dix, Burlington County, New Jersey. The project involved the implementation of an extensive Health and Safety Program and Quality Control Program.

The project included construction in environmentally sensitive areas as well as construction in a contaminated environment. The project required construction of a 350,000 cy embankment cap covered by geomembrane, a drainage and venting geocomposite and several drainage layers. The project also included the installation of a complex underdrain system and the installation of a gas venting system.

Construction efforts were coordinated with health and safety monitoring on a daily basis and the project included monthly verification and documentation supplied to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection regarding progress and environmental controls.

This project was completed on time and within budget.
